Aggendi Warrior by Grebo-Guru Aggendi Warrior by Grebo-Guru
This is a colored version of the techno-organic Warrioir unit made and piloted by the Aggendi, a race of pseudo-dinosaurian aliens. It's from the Mekton Zeta Tactical Display, a supplement for the Mekton Z roleplaying game.

I no longer have access to the original lineart, so I had to scan this out of the book. As a result, the line quality is especially questionable. :-/

Lineart is copyright and everything R. Talsorian Games, no infringement intended, etc.

I just love it: it blends smoothly Inbit and Zoanoid biomechanical aestetics (and many others japanese pop monstrosities...Zeiram, maybe?).

It was a shame it was in a so small picture.

I love Mark Simmons works, mind you, but his sketches for Aggendi War in the upcoming Zero are too much Kajiu-ish (and . the Aggendi needed THIS. And Its companions.

As the Excalibur (and the other Metal Knghts I suppose) was thirty-something meters and the Warrior was Mekton-sized (22 meters, maybe?)  I imagined there was some sort of Drednought-class Aggendi mecha...

I truly would like to see the Aggendi as you envisioned them.

Gosh, I appreciate you comments very very much. Thank you! I blush. As for Mark, he's a close friend and that sometimes makes things a teensy bit hard for me just because I envy him his artistic abilities soooooo much! Of course, he did get a masters in illustration and all. I should do that.

Anyway, many thanks again for your comments about the Aggendi. Both designs were pretty off-the-cuff, and you're right about me drawing influences from Mospeada, Guyver, and others (Gall Force's Paranoids, some of the zanier Obari fare.)

OMG........ Aura Battler Dunbine influenced. It's awesome!

Good job balancing the amount of the details through out the design, and the placement of the Spike Groups throughout, too.

Yeah, I was definitely influenced (perhaps unconsciously) by Aura Battler design -- the Dunbine Roman Album was one of my first mecha books. And thank you most graciously for your compliments and the cogent commentary. :-)
